Bring out the dancing girls.....
« on: October 17, 2017, 01:10:45 PM »
This occurred over 20 years ago but it still remains at the top of my list of wild happenings.

The scene : Maine prep school vs. Canadian college
                 NCAA rules

ACT I : It was near coin-toss time, when...

A. Two large tour busses arrive carrying 80+ Canadian students.

B. Each student had his/her face painted in school colors.

C. Each male student had a case of LaBatts long-neck bottled beer on this shoulder.

ACT II : Maine liquor rules

A. The prep school's athletic director sprinted across the field to greet them.

B. He informed them that liquor was not allowed on campus.

C. They informed him : "Je'ne comprend Angles" (translation - "I can't speak English".

D. He told us ; "the game won't start until the beer's back on the bus"

ACT III : International relations

A. The Canadian coach acted as translator and explained Maine's liquor laws.

B. The students, pretending to be crying, brought the beer back to the bus.

C. The students returned from the bus, happy now and with a couple of paper cups, each.

D. We did not fear that the paper cups could be thrown on the field.

ACT IV : The game >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D (5 man crew)

A. An early call went against our northern guests, their frenzied masses responded : "Bull S___, Bull S___" - it's great to be bi-lingual !

B. Our guests scored first.

C. I was the ref and positioned for the PAT.

D. A wing yelled : "DAMREN, YA' BETTER HOLD IT!" and pointed towards midfield.

E. Jean-Claude & Pere were there with the Canadian flag on a stick and not a stich of clothes on ??? :o

F. Their kicker turned toward me and said : "Mousiour referee, after the next touchdown the LADIES come out ;) " I responded ,as any red-blooded official probably would >:D : "Well you guys need to get the ball back >:D !"

G. Their girl friends were standing in the opposite end zone and J-C & Pere were just pulling up their britches when the town's entire fleet of police P_S cars arrived  P_S (all two of them).

V. A circus turned into a football game :( :o ??? :P :-[ 8]

   THE END

Officiating Semi Pro in Florida. The Orlando team had worked out an agreement with Baby Dolls, a local strip joint, to provide cheerleaders for the home games.

Let's just say the movie "Replacements" cheerleaders paled in comparison. The agreement fell apart, likely because of the 40 or 50 fans in the stands. Guess the girls had better higher paying fans at their own ball park.

So, I'm guessing they didn't score another touchdown?   ^flag :(

Oh, they scored a few more BUT P_S ^flag P_S one of the two town's police cars remained behind. It was parked between the Laval University's bench and their stands to prevent any more "international incidents >:D "from occurring.
