Inadvertent Whistle
« on: December 12, 2017, 07:20:42 AM »
A 4/G @ B-8.  2 seconds remain in 4th quarter.  Score A - 10 B - 12.

K's FG attempt is blocked and rebounds well behind the LOS.  R picks up the kick and throws a backward pass high in the air in celebration.  K catches the pass and runs toward the end zone.  At the B-6, an inadvertent whistle is blown.  During the down, R coach is on the field but does not participate or hinder the play.

What do you have?

Are you referring to this play in this thread?

More getting at whether you can enforce an unsportsmanlike conduct foul after inadvertent whistle when extending the period by one untimed down.

The IW, as time expires, turns into an untimed down.

The USC, if occurred before or after the IW, would have succeeding spot enforcement (a live ball foul treated as a dead ball foul).

Ball is placed at B-3 with an untimed down
