Baseball riddle.....
« on: May 20, 2019, 11:35:19 AM »
Batter hits a home run - clean and legal - his team doesn't win. If he had struck out, they would have !! How so ????

We had a situation that could have very easily been that last Friday night. Fortunately it didn't, as a hotly contested game would have gotten a lot hotter.  pi1eOn :sTiR: :sTiR:

HINT #1 : Our situation was home team leading 5-3, visitors has bases loaded w/2 outs. Fog was rolling in from beautiful Blue Hill Bay and was engulfing the field.......

If the visiting team scores in the top of the inning and the game is then halted and cannot be continued on that date, the score reverts to the score of the last completed inning.

Is that the rule your game was played under, Ralph?

Right track, GA Umpire  aWaRd , IF : Visitors had scored 3 to take the lead into the bottom of 7th AND the home leadoff batter homered - only to have the game called before the home team finished their at-bats - the game would be considered a tie. IF : The home leadoff batter struck out - only to have the game then called - the score would revert back to the previous inning with the home team winning.
