I remember some bonehead calls I’ve made. Thanks but no thanks. I’ll save myself the heartache.

There but for the grace of God go I...

I can only hope that when I do screw up a call (and we all will), that it won't get posted on the internet with the subject "Look at this moron!"

What ??? I had a play in a middle school game where a team attempted a double pass (QB passed to another player, who completed a pass downfield), but the first pass was forward. I was the LJ, so I flagged the 2nd forward pass. I have no idea how there can be 2 losses of down, because only one live ball penalty can be enforced on any play (if one team commits 2 penalties, the other chooses which penalty to enforce, if both commit penalties, they offset, unless there is a change of possession, and the team acquiring the ball did so before they fouled), so there can only be one illegal forward pass, with one loss of down penalty.

Also bigjohn, the word is spelled "evidently" - with an i. Since you're about perfection and all....

It’s nice to have the luxury of watching plays the next day in HD, frame-by-frame on a giant screen and then deciding someone who got one shot to make a call in real time screwed up.

Humans make mistakes. I’m more human than anyone I know.

Agree with all of the guys above.  This site is a wonderful tool for sharing ideas, getting feedback, learning rules, discussing philosophies, etc.  Let's not turn it into a "name and shame" site.
