Holding behind the line on a pass play.
« on: August 30, 2017, 10:46:04 AM »
1st and 10 at the 50 yard line.  A-12 takes the snap and drops back to pass.  Blitzing LB B-55 is held by A-51 at the A-40 yard line. After the holding flag is down, A-12 throws an incomplete pass downfield.

What is the penalty enforcement?  Down, distance, and rule reference(s) please.

1st & 30?  Original line to gain was B-40, ball now at A 30.

Holding was 10yrds behind original LOS.  Enforce 10yrds from the 40.  Ball now at the 30.

Also known as "1st down and a country mile".

Or "two stakes, baked potato, and a side salad."
