* This year it is 2" striped shirts,  last few years it was NFL pants.  Can puce and chartreuse striped socks be far behind?

Prab, you left out blue bean bags from white.

At least that change makes sense...

I began my zebradom back in 1969 while in Connecticut that was still a NCAA state. My flag was half red & half white until I moved to Maine in 1971 and was told to get an all red one - I obliged. A few years later I was told I needed to get a yellow one - 'cause you could see 'em better - I could see my red one just fine, but I obliged. I had a solid black hat, until I was told I needed to get one with white piping, as it looked more official - I obliged. Later I became a white hat - only it had a black visor and black piping back then. A few years later I was told I needed to get a solid white one as the black visor could confuse you with the other officials - I tried to figure why anyone would look only at ones visor and not his whole noggin', but I obliged. I'm 5'8" 180 lbs - wider stripes may make me look skinnier as I'm a little fat :), BUT wider stripes will make me look shorter, as at 5'8", I could already be considered vertically challenged :(. I may not oblige. We have reversable jackets that on occasion of a cold/rainy/snowy night, will wear during the game. These have 1" stripes which would require yet another purchase :( If I wanted to look like an NFL official, I'd buy a Jerry Markbreit mask nAnA!

Just got back from an off season meeting tonight and I haven't heard anything about California switching. I certainly don't want to buy new shirts. So weeks I do games three days in a row and its tough to get the wife to do laundry every day  >:D  so that means I would need 2-3 short sleeve and 2-3 long sleeves. That's $200+ to replace my shirts.

Work a two state conference. As of now one state vows to stay with current stripe. Other state will allow either current stripe or 2 1/4 stripe with the idea of seeing which one eventually wins out (all officials on game must wear same stripe). My biggest fear would be that eventually they each decide on a different version of wider stripes.

I would like to know if GA plans on using the 2 in stripes this year. I would like to go ahead and look into getting a few custom shirts with the sublimated logos

WV is supposed to give the option. Don't know if its official yet. Have been told Bruce Maurer in Ohio is opposed to changing to new stripes.

Fortunately/unfortunately, "looking cool", or being considered competent is better judged by what we do, rather than how we look while we're doing it, but the practical and actual REALITY is that the conversion to black trousers, from white knickers, makes it more difficult vizually to pick up officials on the field, especially along the sidelines, in front of the team box areas.

Surprisingly, the wider stripes, make a noticeable difference in the ability of clock operators to spot field officials, and there doesn't seem to vary much interest in reverting back to white knickers.

I had a costume last year in the car for my daughter's end of Kindergarden party (going to first grade), which was basically a furry blue bear that we turned into a Cookie Monster (tm?) costume.
Since I had it in the car, I brought it in on game day and put it on instead of my stripes. The guys loved it - but I'll tell you it was only good for cold weather games! Those things are hot!

Or red, I saw a movie where one of the coaches was wearing a red wind suit and he was easy to pick out of the croud!

I seem to recall that the blindside tackle also picked him out pi1eOn. Hope you got hazardous duty pay, AB. :)!
