Did anyone catch the ou vs ut,  I  caught the last quarter and noticed the umpire was wearing a hat cam.  Anyone have an idea why?  Training is my only guess

It is done in a lot of high profile  games now .  By and for media .  Rules now allow

Multiple officials have them in the big TV games. As noted, rules allow it and it is all for TV.

One of the games I was watching Saturday showed video from the hat cam. It was great. We need them to release more video so we can use it for training. The view is pretty much the same as what the official sees.
