For those of you with Garmin watches, I've written an app that acts as a 40/25 play clock (and a 60 second timeout timer). It's not up on the store quite yet, but I'll post it if I get a few requests -- I've tested it on my FR235, so if you have a different model let me know and I'll make sure it works on those models first.
Also, if there are any extra features that aren't included, I'm open to ideas. I do want to keep it relatively simple, low memory/battery usage and no-frills. It's just a giant number showing the time remaining.
I'm plotting out one that will include a game clock as well, but that will be a bit more complex and needs a fundamental redesign.
Current features:
40 second play clock, vibrates at 25 seconds and then at 5-4-3-2-1-0.
25 second play clock, vibrates at 5-4-3-2-1-0.
60 second timeout, vibrates at 15 seconds.
At any time, hitting the appropriate button will reset the clock to 40/25/60. For example, if the 40 second clock is under 25 and you need to reset to 25, that's a single button push.

any idea of when it might be available?
-
Interested!

Thank you....please let us know when its ready to roll out....I love the Garmin watch.
-
I'll get it up soon -- what models of watches do you guys have? I want to make sure I don't forget to make it compatible for something
-
I have the Forerunner 220. Will this work on it by any chance?
-
I don't think you can download apps to the 220, at least there's no category for that model in the store.
-
The app has been posted in the ConnectIQ store:
Direct Link (https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/5fd9eb62-faaa-48b5-a9f5-7208bc4b5d37)
It's been built for the Forerunner, vivoactive or fenix watches. If you need a different model, let me know.
I also added a couple extra alerts:
On the 40 second clock, you get a single vibration at 25 seconds and 10 seconds -- then every second starting at 6 (instead of 5). That way, if you need to give the 5 second signal, you have a 5 and 1 second warning.
For the 25 second clock, it doesn't vibrate right away, but the 10 and under 6 is the same.
The 60 second timeout clock only vibrates at 15 seconds remaining, as previously described.

NCwingman...THANK YOU. I'm downloading and will give it a try.
-
Like it so far. Works as stated.
Thanks (Vivoactive HR)

Just got a vivoactive 3. Mine is not giving the buzz at 10 seconds. I downloaded the app yesterday.
-
I just uploaded a hopefully fixed version if you weren't getting all of the vibration alerts. It should be version 1.0.1, but I don't know how long it takes for it to show up in the store (might take a day or two?)

Do you have any recommendations for a game clock timer app? I know there are many out there, including one with the watch out of the box, but I am curious if anybody is aware of any connect IQ apps out there that are friendlier to the official keeping track of the game clock.... "idiot-proof" so you don't accidentally reset the timer, or the timer is still on the screen after the watch goes to sleep or there is an unusual delay (injury, etc.). Thinking about getting a smartwatch and doing some research ahead of time.
Thanks.

There’s a great app for the Apple Watch. I don’t do farms so I don’t know about that.

One of my off season goals is to add a game clock to the app I wrote -- at least I'll likely make a game clock only app. I'd love to have game AND play clock at the same time, but that's... difficult... with limited buttons. I have ideas, but implementing them "idiot proof" will be the fun and exciting challenge.

Got a 310. Got an App for that?

I don't think the 310 is compatible with the Connect IQ store. Can you download apps to it in a different way?
