The new football season has started or will start for each of us. Our local association has lost two members over the summer, and their passing makes me take a moment to remember them and to give thanks to our Lord that he allows us to continue to live and enjoy our passion for officiating our sport. I would ask that each of us take a moment and give thanks and prayer to our Lord, and ask that he watch over and protect each of us and our families this season, that he give us the continued ability to understand and apply the rules of our game in a fair and impartial manner, and that we behave in a way that gives praise and glory to God and never brings shame to ourselves, officiating, or the game.
