Foul on Kickoff (Free Kick)
« on: November 15, 2010, 06:30:29 AM »
1- K kicks the ball from their 40 YL and while running the make the tackle R commits a BBW foul while the ball was in the air at their own 48 YL. R catches the ball and is tackled at the 25.

Where do you enforcement the penalty from?

Well, they topic title is "Foul on Kickoff", so I'm guessing free kick.

In both cases the foul occurred beyond where the ball was declared dead, so you enforce from the dead-ball spot.

Are you sure I think a free kick is a loose ball foul with no PSK enforcement. Since it was before a COP would you not go back to the original LOS mark it of and rekick if accepted?

Yes, the enforcement spot for the first play is the previous spot.  10 yards from previous spot and re-kick (from the 50).  For the second play, the end of the run is behind the spot of the foul, so enforce from the end of the run (K25), 1st and 10 at K15.

My bad. Scenario #1 is a loose ball play so if the penalty is accepted they re-kick closer to R's goal line.
