End zone foul
« on: October 02, 2010, 09:29:02 AM »
This play happened within the past week.

B catches A's punt deep in the EZ.  B scrambles a bit and is hit hard from behind and the ball pops out.  Opposing players go for the ball, and A then commits LBI.  A second B player recovers the ball in the EZ.

Ruling?

B can decline the LBI, yield the point and scrimmage 1d A B 35
OR accept LBI, 1D at B 10, no point.

Correct.

Is 25 yards in field position worth 1 point?  I can accept that it is to many coaches.  Naturally, it depends on other factors, such as time left in the game, and current score, and others too.
