  • The rules are there if you need them.
Rules I'd have as a head coach...

1. If you get charged with a felony, you are suspended until the case is resolved (players, coaches, and staff).  We don't need  the distraction. Don't put yourself in an environment where that could even remotely happen.

2. If you score a TD with 0:04 remaining in regulation, to get within one point of our opponent, and you decide to be so self-centered and egotistical as to pose like a dog peeing, and you (quite deservedly) get a UNS that pushes us back to the 18, and we miss the extra point by a hair (that would have easily scored if snapped from the 3), and we lose the game against our most intense rival, have a nice life at your next place of 'education' or employment, which begins immediately.  Find your own way back home.

Those are my top 2.

I told my son last night that if #8 had any sense left, he'd just hand his shoulder pads and helmet to a manager and head for the dorm or apartment.

That for sure was one long (fairly short) bus ride back home.

As the late great Paul Brown would say, son act like you've been there before...

It apparently was the proverbial “last straw” for his coach's employers.
