And that we chose not to eliminate Chop Blocks. If only there was a rule...

Gee.  They rejected the idea of having character development?  I'm shocked.

And who needs a game administrator?

Terms and definitions are so important. I know they likely mean low blocks when they say chop blocks, but it would be nice if they used the correct terminology.

10-second subtractions are easy.

Two tiers of Targeting - not so much.  Maybe not that difficult to officiate, but trying to get the spectators to understand why Johnny didn’t get DQd, but Billy did, will be next to impossible.  Even with a field mic, without giving a mini-rules clinic, they aren’t going to understand.  Billy’s mom is gonna be meeting us at the gate when we come off the field.  Heck, I doubt that many coaches will understand the UIL’s rule.  Even if they do, if we don’t DQ opponent Johnny, they will freak out when we DQ their Billy (and vice versa).

As with most rules, maybe it won’t be a big problem in real life.  But, on paper, it sure seems like a recipe for conflict.

Regarding the targeting "changes", I'll be treating everyone the same and DQing everyoneflagged for targeting in an effort to eliminate any presumption of bias.
