......you find out you haven't :o
SCENE: John Bapst (Bangor private school) 21, Mt. Desert Island (Bar Harbor) 0.....0:30 left in game.
(1) MDI fumbles, John Bapst recovers:
(2) JB coach sends in this 3rd string for the first time :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o ;
(3) He then yells : "WE'RE TAKING A KNEE!!!"
(4) Following the Ohio Gold Book, I inform the defense;
(5) The offense lines up in victory formation;
(6) All the O line stands - excepting the center:
(7) The ??? QB turns to me and shows me his empty hands;
(8) The U points toward the center and yells : "HE'S STILL GOT IT ::) !" The center had taken the knee and was clutching the ball !!
(7) ^flag ^flag ^flag ^flag ^flag (5-man crew);
(8) I announce to the frenzied masses : "FALSE START BY EVERYONE BUT THE CENTER :P ";
(9) After 5, the snap & knee performed perfectly . ;D
.....We then gathered at our favorite watering hole with the other crews. We then voted that "THE PLAY OF THE WEEK". tR:oLl

;D I had seen that on Sportscenter a short time ago, which may have prompted my response. I guess another choice would have been to say : "Good enough ,lets go home :P"

Whatever witty saying you can come up with would work ;D

Smart 3rd stringer. He doubled his playing time.
I was hoping you were going to say that both teams took a knee and said a prayer.

I think "False start, everybody but the center" is a good way of saying it. It highlights the fact that the center screwed up, not everybody else.
The ball should have been snapped on two, and everybody went on two... the center didn't snap it on two and HE'S the one who messed up.

I have reported that to my sideline as "failure to snap" when questioned.

We had one very similar a couple of weeks ago.
We don't tell the defense he's taking knee, but we say "Defense, be smart; offense, protect yourselves." All 7 of us are pinched in nice and tight to prevent any foolishness. QB calls hike, takes a knee, 9 other A players get in position to protect themselves... except for the center, who never snapped the ball, and still has his head down and his hand on the football.
"False start, everyone but the center."
Umpire tells him before the R blows it ready for play, "53, you DO still have to give the QB the ball..."
