Are you sure, Jason?

Q: What happened? A: 5 yd face mask

Q: Who fouled? A: B

Q:When did it happen? A: Before a legal fwd pass

Q: what kind of play do we have? A: Loose ball (10-3-1 note tells us that "runs that precede a legal or illegal kick, legal fwd pass, backward pass or fumble are considered part of a loose ball play")

Q: What is the basic spot for loose ball plays? A: The previous spot

So, I would argue that A would have to take the result of the play OR the 5 yd face mask walk off from the previous spot.  Refer to Case book plays 10.4.2 sit B,C,D

Doesn't face mask fouls have special enforcement rules. Basically face mask fouls are tacked on to the end of a run.

In this case A would loose yardage if they accepted the foul.

Not in FED football.

In this case A would loose yardage if they accepted the foul.
So they would (probably) decline.  It's called an "option".
