Broncos - Chiefs Interception
« on: October 03, 2018, 08:15:34 AM »
With 9:16 left the 3rd quarter of the Broncos-Chiefs game on Monday night, a KC defender intercepted a Denver pass.  As the defender came down to the ground with the ball, he had one foot land in bounds and then the Denver receiver pulled him to the ground.  The receiver landed with half of his body in bounds and half out of bounds.  The KC player landed on top of the receiver and his next contact with the ground appeared to be out of bounds.

I don't have access to the video and haven't gone back to verify that there wasn't some other contact between the defender and the ground, but if things happened as I describe above, should the play have been ruled as an incomplete pass rather than an interception?

I watched this play and slowed it down. It looks like a good interception.

The receiver's butt may have touched the ground, that's inconclusive, but both his feet touched the ground even though landing on the Denver receiver.
