Texas Officials - Our Help Is Needed
« on: November 29, 2010, 11:19:32 AM »
The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum has announced plans to host a special exhibit, Texas High School Football: More than the Game from August 7, 2011 - December 31, 2011.
This exhibit will take visitors behind the scenes and give due diligence to those who make Friday Night Lights possible. Cheerleaders, band members, athletic trainers, game officials, boosters, and mascots will all factor into the exhibit, just as they do on a typical game night. Players, coaches, and legendary teams will also share the spotlight in this multi-dimensional exhibit that is laden with audio, video, interactives, and historical artifacts.
So that the nation's largest football officiating force can be represented properly, the Museum is asking TASO members to search their personal archives for the following objects: (1) An old referees uniform, preferably from the 1960s or earlier (failing that, anything from the 1970s would be acceptable); (2) Old equipment, whistles, flags, etc.. (3) A page from a program or officials training manual that shows officials demonstrating a variety of penalties (holding, off sides, illegal procedure, etc.).
All lenders will be credited in the exhibit, the Museum pays all insurance and shipping costs and the items will be returned at the close of the exhibit. If you have anything of interest, please contact me.
Thanks,
Mike
