Good news about good kids.....

(1/1)

Ralph Damren:
So much that we hear, read, or watch today seems to be focused on bad news about bad people, bad countries, or bad weather. Last week, a good story about good kids arose with very little coverage. This occurred in a rural Maine community.
A school bus, filled with middle school students, was humming along a country road, when:

(1) The driver had a medical emergency and collapsed in his seat;
(2) the bus began to swerve all over the road at 25-30 MPH;
(3) most of the young students were crying and screaming;
(4) two six-grade boys didn't, and rushed to the front;
(5) they determinedly pulled the bus over and to a stop;
(6) most kids had cellphones, most called 9-1-1 or the parents.

The boys later said that neither had EVER driven anything on a public road....

Great story, Ralph. While I believe divine intervention is a thing, I think this is two well-parented young men being brave. Good for them. Good for the other kids. Good for this country.  :patrioticon:

Ralph Damren:
I was able to retrieve more info of the story. The two boys were brothers, ages 11 and 14. Apparently the  story did reach beyond Maine's borders, as the brothers received an out-of-state phone call. It was Bob Kraft, Patriots owner, praising their bravery and inviting the boys and their parents to join him in his sky-view box for the season opener :!# :!# . The brave brothers are both Patriot fans  :).

Good deeds deserve reward. Good for everybody, in this instance.
