Shutdown on punt

Question regarding "shutdown" on a punt in HS.  If it doesn't occur on every scrimmage kick situation and the coach pulls it out of his bag of tricks and does it in the fourth quarter, is it a penalty if it draws B offsides?  I am reading 7.1.7b and feel that it is an act to get B to encroach.  Thoughts?

GA says it is a false start whenever it is observed.

False start.  Never heard it called "shut down" before.  I'm guessing this is when they go quickly into a stance to get the defense to jump.  You can get away with a warning if the defense doesn't fall for it.

BS detector should go up if it's 4th and less than 5 too.

I think OP meant “snapdown”, which is what it’s called around here.  We don’t allow it either, and consider it an act designed strictly to cause the defense to encroach.

Is there a video example of this tactic? It would be more helpful to see what we actually have to look for.

And the defense got flagged for Encroachment, which is what commonly happens.
