1:29 3rd Gilmer v Navasota
« on: December 21, 2012, 08:01:34 PM »
Two good calls on the play. We have Illegal high contact on B and We have FM on team A at the end of the return. A Question regarding timing of the Penalty by B, which occurred almost simultaneously with the interception.  What if the int had happened, if it could be determined, before the foul was deemed to have occurred?  B would've had Clean hands and could decline offsetting and retain possession.  Is this reviewable if there's a question about the timing of the foul relative to the COP? My league doesn't have replay and I don't want to read 12 tonight.

The crew did lose about :23 seconds when the clock operator took the play off and the deep flank didn't check him.  But overall judgement was good on this tricky play.  :patrioticon:

I thought is was pretty clear that the interception took place before the foul, although I could see in real time how it might have been tough to determine.

Tough to say the timing is "pretty clear" since it is almost simultaneous.

In live speed I can easily see how they offset these.

On another note, practice, practice, practice your mic skills.  Whether you wear a mic in each game or not, always verbally announce the penalty enforcement so you don't butcher an announcement during a game in which you do wear one.

Agreed. Thought the same thing myself. Also, practice the delay that is on most mics. Not only will you be ready, but it gives you another 3 seconds to think about what you are going to say.

Any thoughts as to whether White #8 deserved to be ejected?

White # 8 was the player involved in the accident two days ago!

I don't have any issues with the crew on this play. He could have given a little more info on the timing of the first foul. I don't believe the high hit was ejection-worthy.

12 almost taking the kids head off with the FM was pretty flagrant IMO.
