Questionnaire and states actions with it
« on: February 05, 2018, 08:46:54 AM »
I almost hijacked the questionnaire post but decided to start a new one.

What do state associations tell you about the questionnaire or how do they publicize it?

I've talked to coaches and other officials but unless they hear about it from someone on a forum neither group knows anything about it here in Tennessee.
Tennessee's state association doesn't even acknowledge it exists, so the local associations don't either.

We didn't receive any information about the questionnaire from the FHSAA.  I only knew about it from the post on this site.

I made connections this year via Bossman's post. I did drop in the NFHS's "suggestion box" that it should be made user friendly. I did watch last night's Super Bowl.

Ohio sent a notice to all officials.

I talked with one HC/AD who looked back through all his emails and he got nothing from the OHSAA.  I know that the state works closely with the high school football coaches association so it is likely there was communication there.

I don't believe we got anything from the state about it here in GA.

I saw it on the forums and asked my association to forward it along, which they did.

Illinois sent an email to all football officials:

"Dear Football Official,

The NFHS, the group that writes our football rules, annually asks for feedback from officials around the country regarding new rules we implemented this year and potential new rules for the future.

Please take a few minutes to complete the NFHS football rules questionnaire at this link:

http://www.nfhs.org/sports-resource-content/nfhs-sport-questionnaires/

This is your opportunity as an official to directly influence the decision-making process on a national level.

The NFHS Football Rules Committee meets in January to discuss new rule proposals.  The data that committee receives from this survey will guide their thought process related to future football rules.

Thank you for your participation in this survey.

Best wishes to you and your family during the upcoming holiday season!

Ohio appears to be the perennial leader in both coach and official responses. Any of you from the Buckeye state care to share your success  :) ??

Both the state and the local association sent out the link, so it's actively pushed.

Tennessee's state association doesn't even acknowledge it exists, so the local associations don't either.

In NY, the link to the questionnaire was provided to each of the local association interpreters so they could share it with their members.
