1A sixplayer rule
« on: August 31, 2019, 02:59:56 PM »
Where can I find the field diagram or rule exception that shows the team area for sixman football?  At one time I thought the team area was from the 20 yardline to the other 20 yardline, unlike the 11 man version of being from 25 to 25.

Because what you're looking for doesn't exist. There is no exception for the team area. It is between the 25's just like 11-man.

At one time it was the 20.  I guess it vanished sometime ago.

Yeah, they have so many kids on the sideline they need the room.     hEaDbAnG

We got some sixman teams with more players than some of the 2A and 3A teams we cover.   :!#

Yeah, but the goal lines on 6-player football fields are so far from the team area...

  • Without officials... it is only recess.

It''s really just a simple process of elimination: the NCAA rules says the team area is the 25 to the 25, and the UIL has not made a specific exception to the otherwise for the 6 man game.

But since the 40 is midfield, the area is only 30 yards long
