2023-2 CFO/NCAA Video
« on: May 25, 2023, 01:45:10 PM »
The latest CFO/NCAA Off-Season Training Video on Targeting is really good. It shows examples of a wide variety of targeting fouls, in both 9-1-3 and 9-1-4 categories. And there are examples of 'suspicious' actions that are proven to be no-foul. The video quality is exceptional. Some of these examples show how difficult it is to see and verify, on the field, all of the components for targeting foul. As Shaw states, due to the potential for injury, they are supportive of throwing flags for suspicious actions that may be targeting, and letting replay make the review and final determination.
Take a look.

No, Al, you have to be a member of the CFO section of Arbiter. When I was working FBS Football, we were members. Now that I am working Texas High School football, our statewide organization has a 'deal' with Arbiter for our members to get access for only $40 per year. I'd guess 30% of our members join. Myself, or others in our local group that have a membership, will get online and show the videos at chapter meetings. But those that are most motivated will join so they can look at the videos at their leisure, and as often as desired. But, it is for football played by NCAA rules, so you'd have to take that into account.

Not sure if this will work, but give it a go:

Thanks, Bobby, it worked great and was very well done and informative.  Being able to recognize and understand differences between NCAA and NFHS can come in very handy when it becomes necessary to identify those differences to otherwise "well meaning" people who may not realize they exist.

Wow. Well, great. I'm glad it worked. All learning materials should be available to everyone.
