On the latest Replay plays of interest, a play from Northwestern vs Illinois shows just how tight some plays can be.  The time from when the BCs leg touches the ground until the ball reaches the goal line would have to be measured in microseconds.  Maybe milli-micro seconds (if there is such a thing).  No human could get that in real time.  I guess that's why we have replay. I guess.

I wonder what it would be like without replay?  Hmmmm.

  • Without officials... it is only recess.

I have learned so much about replay with Jim Blackwood's videos.  I really like the way he does a 2-part video with the first showing just all the clips the RO has available to render a decision, then follows up with what the answer should be, and why.  I hope he keeps this going in the off-season.

Not all coordinators are loved by their staffs.  But I can attest that everyone that ever worked for Mr. Blackwood loved the man.  He made everyone as good as they could be, while allowing them to have fun.  He is truly a good man.
