Penalty enforcement
« on: August 20, 2016, 01:54:18 PM »
Ok fellas.  I need some help here....

A's ball  2 and 10 from the 50.  A drops back to pass.  A52 is flagged for holding at  A's 45 yard line.  A's QB throws a forward pass that is incomplete.  Where should the holding be marked off from? The OLS or the spot of the foul? Result 2 and 10 from A's 35 or 2 and 10 from the A's 40?

Loose ball play.  Basic spot = previous spot.  ABO principle applies. Foul behind the basic spot= enforce from the spot of the foul if accepted.  Of course B could decline and it would be 3/10 from 50 yd line.

I concur with Curious.  The penalty is enforced from the spot of the foul.  If accepted, it will be 2nd and 25 at the A 35-yard line.

Agree spot foul because of all but one philosophy. For what it's worth hortond, don't confuse Saturday rules with Friday rules.
