Cool story. Still have a red/white "foul marker" I used in the mid 70's (in my 'museum' ).
Robert
I started back in 1969 in Connecticut, back then a NCAA state, and we used red & white flags. When I moved to Maine in 1971, all were using red flags, so I later bought a red one and "retired" my R & W to be wrapped around my clip for the chains. The frozen tundra of Maine took it's toll and after a few years I tossed it away.
Good job ,Robert, on holding on to yours -I wish I had. I made even a worse decision back in the '50s when I traded my Mickey Mantle card for one of Ted Lepcio (a reserve infielder of the Red Sox) - why ? Because I didn't like the Yankees
