Bucket list...FC>FK>FG..

Anyone watching last night's  NFL game may have recieved an achievement to their bucket list  :bOW. We have chatted several times about the NFHS & NFL rules allows a free kick after a fair catch for a field goal. For this rare play to be attempted, the stars have to align : (1) late in a half as you're giving up the ball; (2) within field goal range;(3) the 3 points have to be meaninful. Last night fair catch interference was  ^flag as time  expired. The ball was moved to K's territory. Untimed down, free kick option was chosen, and kick sailed true.

The TV knew of this before the option was chosen and called it correctly. Once the kick scored, they quickly announced that was the successful act since 1976 in the NFL. yEs:

Thankfully the Broncos aided and abetted by some atrocious clock management on their final drive of the half with 41 seconds left inside their own 20, and then why even bother to punt the ball in-bounds.

Sean Payton is smarter than anyone and knows exactly what he's doing at all times.  Just ask him.
