Okay, had something that after 20 years of varsity work, have never experienced. Had a disgruntled coach on my sideline coming out of halftime because he disagreed with a DPI no call on the last play of the first half. The opposing team is warming up on one half of the field. They start lines for calisthenics outside the out of bounds lines on each side of the field. This (disgruntled coach) starts going nuts because the opponents were on his sideline. The crew was unsure what the actual rule says regarding this issue. The opposing team wasn't causing any issue, they were just warming up leaving half of the field open for the other team. In the interest of calming the situation, we had them stay on field to conduct their warmups. I have scoured the rulebook, the mechanics manual and our state (Kansas) football manual and I can't find anything that specifically covers this issue. I simply believe this coach was being petty because he didn't like being down 14-0 in an 8 vs. 9 seed game. Anyone have anything that specifically covers this.
