Trail running shoes?
« on: July 27, 2024, 09:50:07 PM »
We’ve got a lot of schools in the area that have switched to new field turf fields instead of the old grass.  Been wondering about getting a pair of Hoka or Solomon trail running shoes to use as opposed to a turf cleat - anyone got experience with using trail running shoes?

I've used regular running shoes the last couple of years and they work just fine on a good grass or artificial turf field. Can be a little light on traction if the turf is wet (I prefer/wear an older turf shoes if I expect rain).

I currently use a pair of these:

I find them very comfortable (YMMV).

We do have some venues in the UK with turf fields that won't allow them as they insist on plastic cleats only (these are considered flat soled), so I have a pair of soccer cleats for those fields.
