2nd and 12 on B's 32. Score is A27-B28. Team A has no time outs left. A-33 advances to the middle of the field at B's 9 where he throws a backwards pass towards the sideline in an attempt to stop the clock. As the ball is bouncing towards the sideline it is unintentionally kicked by B-86 and the ball rolls out of bounds at B's 27.
Discussion here if the force of the ball is changed due to the kick, or it the attempt by A to throw it OOBs and it ending up OOBs draws a flag.

I'd say that it is the original intent that matters, so this would still be a foul.

Unintentionally kicking a ball is equivalent to muffing the ball with a foot. Muffing does not change the status of a loose ball. It's still a backward pass, which was thrown intentionally to conserve time and ended up going OB. Foul
What would be the ruling if B96 intentionally kicked A33's backward pass and it went OB?

OK Great. I had read 8-7-2-b-1 (If he kicks a ball not in player possession) - and didn't consider rule 2 that kick is only intentionally kicking.
Thanks for the clarification

Did this foul occurr with under a minute to play in the half?
