Title: B scores on a try?
Post by: NVFOA_Ump on October 11, 2013, 10:08:25 AM
We have a try after a TD.  Snap goes over the holders head and B-22 picks up the ball and heads the other way escorted the entire way by B-24.  The kicker manages to make a last minute diving tackle at the 5 yd line.  As B-22 is going down short of the goal line, he "loses possession" of the ball which rolls forward into the EZ where B-24 falls on it.  What do we have?

Two points for team B. Rule 8-3-2-d-5 applies only to fumbles by team A before a change of team possession.

You have nothing except a lot of useless exercise. When B gets the ball, the try is over. B cannot score on a try.

Please note that this is the NCAA forum. In NCAA, unlike in NFHS, team B can score.
