Working a girls varsity basketball game today and now this: The coach for one of the teams was wearing I guess you could describe it as a back pack that carries babies. With her son in it! She coached the whole game wearing the contraption. And it looked pretty heavy. She coached mostly behind the chairs the players sat on. What I am wondering is what she would have done if the kid started crying? :)

About 18 years ago, at a Mass. high school tournament game, I remember seeing a coach's husband walking around the perimeter of the court, holding their young child, giving a running critique to the officials. I guess he figured he wouldn't be as likely to be thrown out if he had the kid with him.
