Etref is in need of your prayers tonight as he is in the burn unit at Parkland after a work related accident on Wednesday. Rick is my umpire on our HS crew and I am the umpire on his JUCO crew. I talked with him briefly this evening and he is up walking and expected to recover but he has some burns on his arm, torso, and face. He will have some skin grafting done early next week and be sent home to heal. He is feeling pretty lucky and in good spirits for all that he has been through.
Here is the article from the local news. http://www.messenger-news.com/man-electrocuted-on-the-square/#prettyphoto[8841]/0/

Oh man! Sure hope he gets better.

Prayers for Etref from your old stomping grounds.

Thanks to all for their thoughts and prayers.
Have not broached this with the wife, for docs but plan on being on the field for the first scrimmages!
Baby steps at first.
-
Good luck! We can't afford to lose anyone.

Saw the burn doc yesterday. She gave me an I don't know about mid- August return. She did say I was healing better than she expected.
May not make the scrimmages but should make the season or at least most of it!

Glad you are coming along ahead of schedule!!

Glad you're improving. As a firefighter, electricity is the thing I am most afraid of. I've been shocked twice during fires but luckily it was only 120 V but that hurt enough. I can't image what if felt like for you. Sounds like the first responders did a good job and you must have good burn docs.

I owe a lot to the firt responders and the burn docs as well as my wife who is taking very good care of me.
However, I really think more than anything it the thoughts and prayers of so many that have made the difference.
Thanks to all.

Glad you are doing better.

Well my doctor treating the burns has told me no football for this year. I plan on staying active by helping the chapter with crew observation and review.
Best of luck to everyone this year and have a great season!

Sorry to hear that. Good idea staying involved. Hope you are back next year.
