Title: DIII game
Post by: NJOfficial on September 06, 2014, 06:05:47 PM
Two questions.  I was doing chains at game and one teams head coach when on offense would yell the opposite of what his team was doing.  For example if they were running the ball he would yell pass in an attept to confuse the defense.  Is that legal?

During the game the crew switched sides at halftime. I never noticed this before, is that common?

Legal, the entire strategy of offense and defense is to confuse/deceive  the opponent. As long as they do not use equipment to deceive (need my kicking shoe)

Mechanics is for the sideline officials to switch sides
