Not. This is a play where you should let it run its course and digest what you saw. This official is a bit too quick with the flag. If he had waited a tick or two, he may have seen that 51 is not engaging the defender high but rather is simply trying to get to the second level to engage a backer.
-
The last view is the most telling. Defender is the initiator and 51 is attempting to get to the second level. No foul for CHB.

I agree it's not a correct call, however it's easy when viewed from the last shot in slow motion. I can't say I'd have a problem with the call on the field at full speed and from his angle.
It certainly looks like the center engages before the tackle goes low.

Agree with the above that the flag came out too quickly. I could probably live with the foul although I don't believe I would have flagged it. However, there is no reason to rush the flag. Let it play out before even reaching for that flag.

I would support a chop on this. A51 may be trying to get to the next level, but he does briefly engage this defender. The situation where the defender prevents the lineman from getting to the next level often involves a hold.
If you don't have a chop here you should definitely consider a clip. The RG initiates contact below the knee from behind on the defender. The RG needs to see this defender is either engaged or now has his back toward the guard before initiating the low block. It happens quickly, but I think a foul needs to exist on this play.
There is no rush to get the flag out and it went way to keep. Enforcement is going to be previous spot any way but the flag should not be this deep.

I don't think A51 initiates the block, the defender does. It is not a foul if the defensive player initiates the contact.

I'd support the flag on this one. IMO A51 gives a standard brush block making sure that the defender can't get by him into the backfield then moves on to his next assignment. IMO the defender is clearly engaged with A51 when he gets cut from behind. I'm calling this one. ^flag

That is a clip at the minimum. Even though both players are on the line and in the blocking zone, the contact is at or below the knee.
I see Magician's point of view on why this could be supported as a chop and I tend to agree.

Had a play similar to this earlier this season. I still have yet to see the film, but replaying it in my mind, I may have kicked it. Nose was much quicker than the center, and nose initiated the contact when he was cut by the guard. Agree on this one though, could have been a clipping foul at the least. Might be a reach for a chop.
