I didn't want to throw names out there (I don't want to add the the rumor mill) I just wanted to know if anyone else has heard anything.

You heard correctly. The Coordinator made the announcement during the CIAA camp.

I am surprised by this.  Any FCS conferences going this route?

I heard recently from people who would definitely know that getting replay instituted is a much higher priority for them right now.

I'm too young to remember but these same people said it was almost 15 years before all the major conferences went from 6-man to 7 so it will probably be 4-5 years before some of these conferences start going to 8.

While I don't have any sources, I expect replay to be a bigger priority at the FCS level, too - if only for the need on targeting calls.  We had a game here at my local FCS university with targeting calls on the same team on consecutive plays.  The visitor's sideline got awfully heated after the second flag was announced. (I thought they were both good calls, but since I was on the visitor sideline working the auxiliary first down marker I kept my mouth shut until halftime.)

Several Maine high schools are now using 9-man crews : R,U,LJ,HL,BJ,NPM,SPM,DBG,& CG.
There was a discussion as to addressing the game clock operator as a crew member.
The general concensus was that unless snow flakes can land on your cowboy boots / LL Bean mudders / Brienstocks / Harbor sandals / whatever , you can't be considered a crew member.

Next thing you know, the grill cook in the Snack Shack will want to be a crew member.....
