Morning all,
I originally posted a topic inquiring about potential officiating assignments while on a holiday to the US as I currently officiate in Australia (although we use the NCAA rulebook with local variations for our league) and have done so for the past 3-4 years.
However since starting in officiating and realising just how much fun it is (and how much I love doing it - football season is never long enough) it dawned very quickly on me that giving it a shot in the big daddy of it all, the US, would be a new dream for me. While planning my holiday recently I realised something - I'm only 24, have an education behind me (bachelor degree in business, majored in accounting - not sure what the relevant title is for the states if it is different) but also have a good few years experience in retail management, and have been saving money for a while now - why not go for it?!
Rambling aside my main question is this - I want to start looking into the current NFHS rules (as I believe starting at that level would be a good step) however have found the 2014 Football Rule Ebook to be unavailable to purchase on Amazon at this time. Is this edition currently outdated with a new version to come out or are the 2015 rule changes as I found on the NFHS website to be used in conjunction with this version of the book? I know in NCAA they release books to cover the next two seasons with rule change advisories and such used in conjunction in a non rule book year (from memory the current edition is the 2013/2014 book so should be a new one this year for 2015/2016).
Thank you all,
I really hope I can make it in your world (and what an exciting world I'm sure it will be)
Regards,
Lucas

After working NCAA rules for the first 8 years, I moved to Oklahoma for a year and worked NFHS rules. It has taken me nearly 20 years to get over it!!!! ;D
