Title: Illegal Downfield 1 yard? 3 yard?

What has become the final verdict on this?

Has this become a philosophical change or an actual rule change?

Or has this been tabled all together?

The actual change did not make it through PROP .  I have not seen anything "official" but the sense I got from reading some of the stuff on this is that it might be a Point of Emphasis this year to more strictly enforce the existing rule.  I would expect it will be on one of the first videos we get also.  The committee wanted something done so seems  reasonable we will be seeing plays where it was not called and told we need to tighten down on it.

if you mean to get it to 1 yard I would say no way.  Redding has way too much integrity for a stunt like that.
