Title: Catch/No-Catch

Is this a catch under 2014 NCAA rules?  http://youtu.be/7uvXrd4W6X0

Not a catch IMHO.  It seems to me the player is going to the ground as he is attempting to secure the ball, so he needs to maintain control of the ball throughout the process.  This receiver loses control of the ball as he hits the ground.  I'd reverse this call in replay.

No catch. The onus is on the receiver to show the official the ball after going to the ground like that.

Video quality is too poor to decide for me.  Sorry :(

I see him down on the ground extending the ball on one hand... I see a catch

but I might not understand the new rules fully

One shot and not that clear but couple of things come to mind. If he maintained control through the ground and did not lose the ball until after the reach it is a catch. If he bobbled on the ground or roll it is a much harder sell for a catch but still could be if he secured and then reached. The key is control through the ground the reach is a second act.

If that's the only shot I've got I would have to let it Stand.

Agree.  I think his reach is a second act.  "Double Action"

I see the ball coming "loose" only AFTER the receiver is down and the play is dead. If it came out before that, I didn't see it and thus can't comment. Based on that, I have a catch and would confirm (the call) on any replay request.
