Wonder what the crew will get paid for this one?

At least 45 plus travel.

Does anyone know the UIL's policy on games that don't get played? Officials travel, plus sit and wait a couple hours or more, then go home. Is it spelled out in 1204 or somewhere else?
-
Don't know that there is a policy as it rarely happens
School should step up and do the right thing
In the past I worked "makeup" games with virtually no gate and the schools paid a generous minimum to the officials

Went to a Friday game in Marble Falls a few years back. Due to lightening and for cast the game was rescheduled for Saturday. I could not go back due to work but I received a game check and travel and the rest of the crew got two game fees plus travel.

They can say they called the perfect game.

Y'all are lucky. We had a similar situation in our area earlier this year where part of a crew went back the next day but one guy couldn't. The guys that were able to go back on Saturday only got one game fee and one mileage. The "replacement" guy didn't get paid anything. The school told them they had already paid for the Friday night crew and were not obligated for anything on Saturday since it was the same game.

I hope that didn't happen in Texas. We are independent contractors. We are not employees so anyone that works one down gets paid.

In our district, we all get full game fees for both the Friday night shortened game, and the remainder of the game on Saturday. So, in effect, we'd get paid for 2 games in this situation.
If we come out to a game and it's not played for any reason (weather, field conditions, less than 16 dressed players on a team), we get 1/2 fee. If the game is late, we get a 25% bonus for every 15 minutes the game starts late. After an hour, we go home with a game fee not working a game. If the game DOES starts an hour late, we get double pay for that game.
You really need to get someone to work on your section's contract better.

Texas does not work that way. There is no "section contract" to work on. We get paid according to the fee schedule approved by the state athletic governing body (UIL). We are getting a raise next year -- about $10 per game (7th thru Varsity).

Except for sitting in the locker room for 4 hours and the sketchy driving conditions is was an easy game. No check yet though. If they pay us fine, if not it isn't the end of the world. I will just chalk it up to being one more very unique Texas High School football experience.
