Title: Wireless Communication
Post by: AC-Ump on May 15, 2016, 10:14:49 PM
Our crew is interested in purchasing push to talk radios so we can communicate during games during the 2016 season. We will be purchasing these ourselves so we are looking for an affordable solution. Does anyone have experience with using these?

Look on ebay for TriSquare TSX300 radios.  These are 900MHz spread spectrum radios with 30 million different channel combinations.  They cannot be monitored.  The power is good and the communication quality just fine for football officiating.  They are not full-duplex, but not really sure why you would need that anyway.  This company is out of business, but you can buy used radios on ebay for $30 to $50 each.  That's a hell of a lot cheaper than the big time systems.
