Need more information....

From the close in side shot... he may have gotten across, but its a bit hard to tell.  From the end zone angle, he looks like he loses it, but cant tell where he is when he does.

What was the game situation?

27-26.  Team just scored TD to make 26.  13 seconds left in 4th. Went for 2 instead of 1 to tie

As Rogers Redding would say,  ... "now we'll look at the goal line angle to see when the ball actually comes out", but we don't have it here.  The official on the goal line looks to be right on it, so when the ball touches the plane - TD.  Got to stick with that I would say.

I have absolutely no clue. I'll go with the official on the goal line. And a good job by the crew in shutting down the play once the fumble was recovered.

Should the play even started?  #8 (back next to QB) never stops moving when slot guy goes in motion.  I would have to go with the official on the field since we can't see the GL view.

Well, I don't see anyone signaling a score, so I'm going to have to go with "no".

If the question is "Did he fumble?" -- yes he did.

If you pause the video at 47 seconds when he starts the jump from the 3, you can go frame by frame on YouTube by hitting the period and comma keys -- you can clearly see the ball coming loose fairly early in the jump.

+1 for the tip.

Clearly ball is out, but a goal line shot would be needed to know 100% the runner is short of the GL.
Good whistle control by the L and good awareness to shut it down when recovered by someone other than fumbler.

I also could support a call for an illegal shift as the back and TE both moved and both didnt get set before the snap.  But this would be live-ball and the play would still continue, and I am sure the Team B coach would decline as the try was no-good.   Mechanically, would the illegal shift call be the H/L or the R?
