Title: Jets v. Ravens: "Blocked" Field Goal
Post by: J12 on October 23, 2016, 04:32:04 PM
Late in the game, (5:00?), the Jets attempted a field goal.  The spot of ball placement was the 41 yard line.  The kick was blocked.  It looked like the blocked kick went slightly beyond the line of scrimmage and then rolled out of bounds.  It looked like the officials spotted the ball at the point where it went out of bounds. Was that correct?  Assuming the kick went beyond the line of scrimmage, shouldn't it have come back to the point of the kick -- the 41?

The officials were wrong. There are 2 places they could put the ball, where it went out of bounds or where it was 'missed'. They should have chosen the most advantageous spot for the Dolphins, but they didn't.
