Title: Touchback or Not

Scrimmage kick, airborn A22 recovers the kick at the 1.5 yard line and lands in the endzone. Touchback or spot 1/10 for B?

The down does not end until the Team A player gains possession of the scrimmage kick. A player does not gain possession of any loose ball until he comes to the ground. Therefore the kick does not end until A22 lands in the end zone. Touchback (with illegal touching happening continuously from the 1.5 to the end zone).

What are the requirements to complete a catch or recovery?  Firm control of the ball and a part of your body touching the ground inbounds.  So, in your play the recovery is not made until he lands in the end zone and I assume the ball is also in the end zone.  Touchback.
