Title: Redding-Shaw Quiz Championship Week
Post by: ElvisLives on December 06, 2019, 06:33:50 PM
WINDING DOWN THE SEASON!

1. A, Try, B-16 1/2, no clock (25).  The DOF is accepted by A, 1/2 the distance, and the Try is repeated.  Since the try is repeated, by rule, the dead-ball UNR by A is enforced on the Try (no, it can't be enforced on the succeeding kickoff).  The 15 yard penalty moves the succeeding spot the B-16 1/2.  The clock does not run during ties.  The play clock is set to 25 and starts on the referee's signal.

2. A, 1/10 B-45, snap (25). The BBW by B28 is illegal, since it is more than 5 yards beyond the NZ.  A88 is blocked OB, and returns immediately, therefore he retains his eligibility to touch a pass.  Thus, the result of the play is simply an incomplete pass.  The BBW foul is penalized at the previous spot, 15 yards, with an automatic first down.  Due to the incomplete pass, the game clock starts on the snap. The play clock is set to 25 and starts on the referee's signal.

3. B, 1/10, B-29 snap (25).  The batting by A88 is not a foul, but is illegal touching. Since the ball did not touch the ground in the end zone, the ball remains alive.  The recovery and advance by B33 is legal.  The description isn't clear, but it appears B33 was tackled with a horse-collar tackle.  If Team B chooses to invoke the illegal touching privilege, they must decline the HCT, and they would get the ball at the B-20, 1/10.  If Team B accepts the penalty for the HCT, it is penalized from the end of the run (B-14), 15 yards, which makes the succeeding spot the B-29.  B will obviously accept the penalty.  Due to the award of a new series to B, the game clock starts on the snap. The play clock is set to 25 and starts on the referee's signal.

4. B, 1/10, B-40, snap (25). If Team B elects to invoke the illegal touching privilege, they would get the ball at the B-30, 1/10.  If Team B accepts the penalty for the illegal BBW foul, the penalty is enforced at the spot where the dead-ball belongs to B (B-25), 15 yards.  The succeeding spot will be the B-40,1/10.  Team B will obviously accept the penalty. Due to the award of a new series to B, the game clock starts on the snap. The play clock is set to 25 and starts on the referee's signal.

5.  A, 1/G, B-11, snap (25).  The UNS-taunting foul by A33 cancels the apparent score, and the 15 yard penalty is enforced at the spot of the foul (B-7).  The succeeding spot is, then, the B-22. The dead-ball UNR-Late tackle by B54 is penalized at the succeeding spot, 1/2 the distance to the goal (B-11), and a first down.  Due to the apparent score, the game clock starts on the snap. The play clock is set to 25 and starts on the referee's signal.

6. B, 1/10, B-25,snap (25). Illegal touching by A88.  Since, by rule, 5 and 10 yard penalties by the non-scoring team during a TD down are declined, Team B is able to invoke the illegal touching privilege. B gets the ball at the B-25, 1/10.  Due to the award of a new series to B, the game clock starts on the snap. The play clock is set to 25 and starts on the referee's signal.

7. 4/15, B-45, snap (25).  By rule, when Team A commits a delay penlty while in a scrimmage kick formation, the game clock is started on the snap. The play clock is set to 25 and starts on the referee's signal.

8. B, 1/10, B-20, snap (25).  The momentum exception is not in effect, since the ball did not remain in the end zone.  The ball becomes dead behind B's goal line with impetus from A33's fumble.  Thus, the result of the play is a touchback, 1/10, B.  Due to the award of a new series to B, the game clock starts on the snap. The play clock is set to 25 and starts on the referee's signal.
