I was just reading an article about journalists in California that are independent contractors that "filed a lawsuit against the state to prevent a new law from forcing some independent contractors to become employees of their clients." I haven't read the law so do not know the details but am curious if it will have any impact on sports officials.

In reading an article about the trucking industry, they are facing the same issue. Seems pro union forces want no independent contractors and everyone must be a union employee.
