I've been advised that we should give more latitude and not be too technical in calling DOF on DB's. To that end, good NC on this play?

Correct no call, especially considering this snapper kept pushing the ball forward. Something else we need to get stopped.

I think in situations where you have a completely stationary defender lined up too close who might have a finger / part of the helmet technically in the neutral zone, that's when we want to be lenient. Alternatively, if a defender makes a move forward into such a position just prior to the snap, we do not want to offer any leniency in that instance.

Oh! I misread.
I think if the ball was not moved up by the center, we should bang this for DOF. His head is completely past the back of the ball. However, try to yell to the DB to back up to get him out of there if you can.
If the ball was moved up by the center and the LOS should be the 30, then I agree, good no call, but be sure to warn the DB to look at the ball. (and warn the center).

Yes, it was. I watched this game, and this specific snapper pushed the ball forward about the length of the ball on virtually every down. That is evidenced on this down by the fact that TV's LOS (the black line) is entirely behind the ball - heck, it is some 4" behind the ball. I believe they normally place the back edge of their line on the forward end of the ball, when the ball is spotted. But, even if TV places the forward edge of their line at the forward end of the ball, for the ball to be where it is in this picture, it had to have been moved forward, by more than the length of the ball. And this snapper did that, consistently. And that is something that needs to be stopped.
