Title: Dollar Power

At this very moment, I - and everybody else - can get regular gas for $2.05 without any sort of ‘deal’ or membership discount, etc., here in Lubbock, Texas (the home of #5 Texas Tech University, playing for the Big XII Championship today!).

How about y’all?

Post by: ElvisLives on December 06, 2025, 03:16:46 PM: I had a 62 VW Beetle in 1970, and I could go 2 weeks on $2.00 worth of gas, at around $0.20 /gal. I recall my Dad telling me he paid $0.05/gal in the late 50s.

Would love to hear from folks in the NW, MW, and NE.

But understand that the pump price is greatly affected by state and local per-gallon taxes. Our state tax rate is $0.31/gal, with county and city adding an additional $0.01 each.
