Title: COACHES SELECTIONS WHAT HAPPENED TO THE POST
Post by: oldtimerref on December 14, 2025, 03:00:51 PM
Several questions arose about coaches selections and of crews that worked multiple games in the last 2 rounds including the semi finals. This must have hit home or struck a nerve because they seem to be deleted. It must be getting to hot in the kitchen for some folks at TASO!!!!!!

I too am surprised it was removed. It would be helpful if an admin gave a reason why, and who made that decision or request.

There were two threads in this section removed over the weekend by two different admins.  I don't know any details about the threads or what's going on in Texas so I will let them address the removals, if they would like to.

Yep, must have struck a nerve with the talking heads of TASO.

Below is the reason for removing the original posting. The rules of this room do not allow for calling out a specific official or chapter. You did that when you started the post. That is the reason it was removed. If you had said something like "Why does one official from any chapter get 2 semi-finals?" that would have been okay. This doesn't have anything to do with TASO or Fort Worth.

There has been much discussion recently regarding this forum and criticizing of other officials.

Effective immediately this forum shall not be used to disparage any specific chapter, crew or official. However, we can use specific plays as a learning tool. If you wish to post a play clip you may do so but we cannot use the name of the chapter, crew or any official. Post the play clip and critique the play, mechanics, enforcement or other aspect but not the chapter, crew or official.

Post the clip and make you comment or question. As an example, in the attached clip from a game last Friday, was there a missed DPI by B12 on the play?

We can critique without knocking down our fellow officials. As "The King" said, I am sure we can also find something good to add or show from a game film. We can all learn from this board (as we have in the past) without getting personal.

I understood why the post prior to mine was deleted however I never mentioned a CHAPTER,OFFICIAL or GAME. I did question TASO and the role it plays during the post season. I have been gone from Texas for many years but I enjoyed my time there in  SFOA  as vice president and president of a chapter. It appears that as in my prior post, I must have touched a nerve because my prior post was the next day deleted. I am very disappointed that many of my old friends and fellow officials as current TASO members, do not have any comments.  Maybe this post we be deleted very soon.

As backjudge85 noted without the specific chapter references the post could have stood. However, it wasn’t possible just to remove the one reference because other posts quoted the chapter reference.

We as moderators are not in anyway defending any chapter or TASO. We are simply attempting to keep the discussion here civil and on point to officiating in general.  We do not want to allow the discussion to get out of hand.

Just an FYI.
I am not and have never been a TASO officer and am currently retired and not involved in any chapter.
