Timing isn’t suspicious at all. /s

Any thoughts on who his replacement will be?

What do you mean by the timing isn’t suspicious?

I think he means 'suspicious' as in, might be linked to being named replacement for Steve Shaw. That 's what I thought he meant, at least.

I knew what he meant. Don’t think that is happening though.

Highly doubt Riveron is in contention for the NCAA job. Getting that job would require being liked by conference commissioners, and by all accounts AR is not highly regarded as a person.

My theory is that he was going into the last year of his contract and was told he was not going to be renewed, so decided to step down “on his own terms.”

Most of the best ACC officials have departed since Al got the job – Mullins, Patterson, Heaser, Flanagan, Savoie, as well as plenty of non-Rs. No one is going to pretend like that’s a coincidence.

These three have gone to the SEC.

I heard today that the ACC approached someone about the job and he turned it down.

Gary Patterson, who resigned two games into the 2025 season after an egregious overreach by ACC collaborative replay, is the name currently swirling as a favorite for this job. Would be a great fit for the role and a middle finger to Riveron, as well.
